LOWER FACE ENHANCEMENT
The above images are before (Right & Top) and immediately after (Left & Bottom) lower face enhancements.
Note: Some clients have had multiple procedures to achieve these results.
Lower Face Enhancement can help restructure and restore lost volume due to the effects of aging. We can also use these enhancements to aesthetically define and shape the jawline, creating a more chiseled profile. Lower Face Enhancements work best in-conjunction with cheek filler. You can further improve upon these results with a non-surgical thread lift.
Nasolabial folds are the deep crease which runs from either side of the nose down towards the corners of the mouth. As we age, these lines become more noticeable as we loose volume from our mid-face and cheeks.
Dermal filler can help correct deep nasolabial folds. To do so, we inject dermal filler into the surrounding area by either sharp needle or cannula. This helps alleviate the hollowing in this area, restoring volume and softening the appearance of these creases.
Nasolabial filler is often used in conjunction with cheek filler in order to restore the lost mid-face volume and structure. By treating the main issue of volume depletion in the mid face with cheek filler, we ultimately lift the nasolabial folds, decreasing the heaviness in the lower face. This option may not be applicable to everyone. In your consultation, your practitioner will discuss your concern and the best options available to create the desired outcome.
Marionette Lines refer to the creases or folds of skin running from the corner of the mouth to the chin. They are caused by the age-related loss of skin elasticity and volume in the mid and lower face. Marionette lines can often make people look like they have a ‘sad clown’ face as the lines tend to create a upturned smile or frowny mouth.
The appearance of marionette lines can be corrected through the use of dermal filler injected into the tissue using either a cannula, sharp needle of a combination of both. Marionette lines can often be exaggerated by the underlying pull of the DAO muscle. Your clinician may recommend incorporating this lower face anti wrinkle procedure into your treatment plan to fully correct the area.
A Jawline Enhancement can improve the structure, add definition and decrease the appearance of jowls caused by aging. We can acheive this by injecting dermal filler to the supramasateric and subcutaneous via cannula or needle.
As we age, bone and soft tissue starts to dissolve around the jawline. This combination of shrinking fat pads and loss of structural support in the jawline contributes to the formation of jowls. Overall, the appearance is that of an aging lower face and neck. To combat this, we can inject dermal filler in this area, revolumising the pre-jowl sulcus and along the mandible.
In terms of aesthetics, jawline enhancement can be an excellent treatment to create a chiseled, more defined jawline. This enhancement can also treat a weak asymmetric jawline. We inject the dermal filler where volume deficits occur to plump out the area in need of definition.
Jawline Enhancement can work particularly well with Jawline slimming and Nefertiti Neck lift treatments to further lift and define the lower face. In your consultation, your practitioner will be able to discuss what treatment options are available to best suit your needs.
After your and discussing your goals of treatment, your face will be mapped out for the dermal filler injections. There are a couple of different techniques that your practitioner can use when performing your lower face enhancements. This treatment may be performed through the use of a cannula or needle or a combination of both. After your lower face enhancement, your clinician will lightly massage the area. This ensures that the dermal filler is sitting correctly within the tissues and to ensure there are no lumps/bumps. This also allows the clinician to assess your skin perfusion, ensuring no adverse events have occured.
Aftercare advice for your lower face enhancement will be the same as all dermal filler treatments. You will want to avoid any alcoholic beverages (where possible) as this can increase your chances of bruising and prolong swelling. Refrain from any active skin treatments over the following 24 hours and all dermal skin treatments for at least 2 weeks. It is also advisable to not massage or lay directly on the area that has been injected for the first day. For more information about this, head across to our FAQ page.
At two weeks post your procedure, you will have an opportunity for a follow up appointment. It is advisable to attend this, especially if it is your first treatment. This allows your clinician to assess how the dermal filler is sitting within your skin, and address any concerns you may have in relation to the treatment.
